Camping out in the living room

Because I had a C Section, we found it much easier if we were all in the same room and not going up and down the stairs too many times. We set up the inflatable bed and the pack and play in our living room. With the kitchen and couch/TV nearby, we have everything we need to make these first few days with baby manageable.

The day my son came into the world

5am I woke up with a sudden urge to pee. Before I could get out of bed, I felt a warm trickle gush out of me. I should have been doing those Kegels more diligently. I called the labour and delivery hotline and told them either my water broke or I just peed in my pants. They advised me to put on a pad and see if it gets soaked within an hour. I went back to sleep and wake up five hours later. My pad is still fairly dry, except every time I go to the bathroom, I see tinges of blood coming out. I called the hotline again. They told me to come in for an exam. We packed our overnight bags for the hospital just in case. 12pm We arrived at the hospital and it's confirmed that my water broke. I felt the tears coming as I answered the questions. I'd be seeing my baby possibly today, two days into w

Pregnancy is bringing out the sweet tooth in me. I made some chocolate chip cookies today. Halved the recipe and still ended up with 40 cookies. God help me that I don't eat them all!

Morning walk

Making it a daily goal to go out for walk to get some exercise and breathe some fresh air. Enjoyed these beautiful spring blooms around our neighbourhood.

Nursery

Hubby and I had a lot of fun putting up Nemo decals in our nursery. Also hung up our George Nelson ball clock. Nursery setup is finally complete.

Day 0

Clean desk Cleaned up my desk and said my goodbyes. Today is my last day of work before I start pregnancy leave. It's a strange feeling not going back to work for a few months. Before the baby arrives, I hope to spend my days meaningfully, catching up on personal projects and getting myself and the house ready for our baby. With the extra time I have, I hope I never have to use the excuse that I didn't have time to meditate on God's word or spend time daily in prayer. I hope not to neglect stepping out of the house and getting some fresh air and exercise.
